Johnson & Mancuso

March 23, 2015

·         Staffing (New Staff) – Johnson and Mancuso would like to welcome our new team members Robert Ha and Ms. Lolita Butler! Robert is will be at the Mancuso location and Lolita Butler will be at the Johnson Location. PT Jessica position will be filled soon until further notice for Johnson location.

·         Summer Reading Program – All programs are set and ready to begin for the upcoming year. Mr. Robinson also mentioned he did give the donated laptops to Mr. Weeks.  A “Secret Santa” dropped off the laptops at the Johnson location and who would like to remain anonymous.

·         Programs – Congratulations on both locations that have now increased programming up to 5 and 6 programs a week. Outreaches will be available on Mondays at the start of next month for staff who may work inside the building while closed. Mr. Robinson stated that no one should be inside the building while its closed to public.  

·         Rules of Conduct/ Houston Equal Rights Ordinance – Changes have been updated to the Library Rules of Conduct. Please become aware of the changes. Patrons who are in violation of these rules should be warned or ask to leave the property. A copy has been printed out for everyone. ·         Texas Children’s Mobile Clinic – At the Johnson location a mobile clinic from Texas Children’s Hospital will be on the parking lot May 5, 2015 from 10 AM to 2PM.

·         College Bond – On March 26 at 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The NAC Committee will be hosting a community action dinner at the Johnson location.

·         Parenting Classes – The Johnson Location will be hosting the parenting classes on Tuesdays starting on April 14^th through May 19^th .

·         Staff Development Day – Save the date on Friday, May 1, 2015 | 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. will be the 2015 Staff Development Day. It is mandatory that all staff should attend but if you have any issues or request for time off please speak to Mr. Robinson for further information. ·         Fire Drill – Both locations will be involved with Fire Drills starting next week on March 30, 2015. The drill will cover on how to escort patron outside the building. The fire drills duration time is 20 minutes.

·         Serials – Time and Consumer Reports are now a part of circulating magazines stated from Ms. Gail Ibarra. Mr. Darryl Kiser mentioned there’s a possibility that we may begin tagging magazines.
